2010 Advanced Insurance Fraud Seminar

The 2010 Advanced Insurance Fraud Seminar will be held on November 15-16, 2010 at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa, 1800 Newtown Pike, Lexington, Kentucky, (859) 231-1500.  We will be offering 14 topics to choose from over the 2-day seminar.  Cost for the seminar will be the same as last year:  $210 for members and law enforcement per day and $250 for non-members per day.  Seminar and hotel reservation deadline is October 24, 2010.  No refunds will be issued after this date.  For a complete listing of our topics and speakers, click here for a copy of our Seminar Brochure.

Donan Engineering Co., Inc. will be sponsoring a Welcome Reception on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at Dudley's on Short, 259 West Short Street, Lexington, KY.  Dudley's has been a mainstay on the Lexington gathering and dining scene for the past 28 years.  A complete renovation took place in 2009 and its doors reopened in March, 2010.  Hors d'oeuvres and open will be offered.  Free shuttle service will be provided from the Griffin Gate. This is a great way to start the seminar with some good fellowship.

 

CE Credits to be applied for are CFE, CFI, CPCU, IAAI, RPA, Kentucky PI CEU, MCLE in Illinois, and CLE in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, and Tennessee.


Our Featured Speaker this year will be Tania Pendarakis, President of Athena Training Solutions, Athena Enterprises USA, Inc.  Her topic will be Liar Liar Face On Fire - Detecting Deception in Subjects, Suspects, Victims & Witnesses and will be presented on Monday, November 15th from 8:15-noon.  Ms. Pendarakis is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in multiple criminal justice disciplines.  Major Pendarakis (Ret.) has served the law enforcement profession for more than 30 years and is certified as a general, specialized and high liability instructor by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.  Major Pendarakis also holds teaching certificates from the National Institute of Ethics and serves as an adjunct instructor for the Criminal Justice Executive Institute, the Florida Leadership Academy (Florida Department of Law Enforcement), Tallahassee Community College and for St. Petersburg College in Florida.

 

Ms. Pendarakis served in uniform patrol for five years and as an undercover officer for eight.  She worked for a plain clothes state investigative agency for 22.5 years and was promoted up each rung of the chain of command from detective to Interim Chief of Law Enforcement.  Ms. Pendarakis was the State Emergency Response Team Commander for her agency and has extensive experience in multijurisdictional law enforcement and emergency response to critical incidents.
